Folio 84: Whitworth to Boyle. Encloses copy of letter from Golofkin stating decision of Czar to await final sentence on offenders in case of Artemonowitz before making a decision about reparation. Requests pass for brother-in-law of Prince Menschikoff, M Basilius Arsenjew, to travel to Britain to learn art of navigation. Rumour that Great Britain and Holland have freed King Augustus [of Poland] from guarantee and promised assistance in regaining throne. Encloses copy of General Goltz letter to Menschikoff on same. Reports of Swedish and Russian troop movements. Return of some Zaporowitz Cossacks to duty but fears that the revolt may spread to Donnish Cossacks. Movements of Czar. Extremities of the weather. Dated Moscow, 20 Apr/1 May 1709.
