This series consists mainly of volumes created in the Court of First Fruits and Tenths and subsequently in the Exchequer Office of First Fruits and Tenths.
They relate to a variety of aspects of the collection of these dues for the Crown and include, for example, accounts, transcripts of sheriffs' returns to writs of 1651-1652 concerning livings and their incumbents, institution and presentation books, books recording appearances in cases of first fruits, and an index to composition books of 1691-1705. Two volumes appear to originate from the equity side of the Court of Chancery and have no obvious connection with first fruits and tenths.
