Description

This series contains records of the Office of First Fruits and Tenths, documenting successful claims made in the Court of Exchequer in 1561 and between 1660 and 1694 for exemption from liability to pay first fruits and tenths in particular cases.

The records consist of returns by bishops and others to writs of certiorari issued from the Exchequer (usually with the returned writ still attached) and orders of the Court of Exchequer thereon.
