Description

This series is made up of deeds held by the Augmentation Office which were separated from the main series in E 326 on account of their fine seals. The distinction between the two series thus lies purely in the quality and condition of the seals borne.

The series, which is arranged in no obvious order, is predominantly made up of evidences of title from monastic and other estate archives acquired by the Crown along with the estates themselves. Among the best represented are the muniments of the abbeys of Bordesley and Quarr, the London Charterhouse, Stamford Priory, the Protector Somerset, and the Nevilles.
