Description

This series is made up of those deeds which were too large to fit into the standard-sized envelopes used for the deeds in E 326. The distinction between this series and the main body of ancient deeds lodged with the Augmentation Office is thus in principle purely a matter of size.

The origins of the two series are more or less the same: both consist chiefly of material from monastic and other estate archives acquired by the Crown along with the estates themselves.
