Description

Particulars for grants to grammar schools, and for the maintenance of the poor and of the clergy. They survey and note the properties which were to provide the revenues for this provision, to be made by the Court of Augmentations out of those lands previously in the possession of dissolved chantries, colleges and guilds.

Auditors' memoranda give details such as the price of repairs to decayed buildings, pensions due to late incumbents, schoolmasters' pay, appointments of schoolmasters, and arrangements for the governance of schools. The series also includes a file of commissioners' warrants.
