United States of America: Department of Alaska. 'U.S. Coast Survey. Benjamin Pierce Supt. Alaska and Adjoining Territory, 1869': map also showing British territory (now in Yukon Territory and Northwest Territory, Canada) as far east as Fort Simpson. Scale: 1 inch to about 53 miles. Drawn by H Lindenkohl; this version photo-lithographed by the NY Lithographing, Engraving and Printing Co, under the superintendence of Julius Bien, 1879. Inset: map of the Aleutian Islands. Coloured MS addition to the main map, apparently marking an alternative boundary line.
