Description

Yorktown, Virginia. Further intelligence of the French fleet; firing heard off the Capes 4-6 Sept.; reputed 3800 French troops at Jamestown; Washington is expected, Lafayette at or near Williamsburg; Cornwallis has taken a defensive position outside the town, is working hard at the redoubt, has provisions for six weeks.
