Description

New Providence. Gov. John Maxwell to Cornwallis. On miserable condition of the garrison under Capt. Grant, difficulties with that officer; includes an estimate (PRO 30/11/63/91) of necessaries wanting for the defence of the island of New Providence: soldiers, sailors, guns, tools.
