Captured ship: Gadsden [first capture ?] (master Thomas Rodman Gardner).
Nationality: American.
History: bound from Rhode Island to Passage [Pasaia, Spain], laden with sugar, rice, tobacco, hides and beeswax; taken on 8 September 1799 by HMS Pheasant (William Skipsey commanding), and brought into Halifax.
