On the Lord Treasurer's Remembrancer's side are included appointments of attorneys by sheriffs, bailiffs of liberties, and escheators, for the render of their accounts at the Exchequer; and petitions for allowance, often with subsidiary documents and annotations made in the course of the accounting process, for the same. There are too views of accounts, particularly those of sheriffs and escheators; copy petitions to the council; counterwrits; drafts of pleadings enrolled; appointments of attorneys in pleas of debt; estreats of fines in the Cinque Ports; and appointments of under-sheriffs and letters certifying the election of mayors of towns.

The files of the King's Remembrancer are dominated from the 16th century by informations and further proceedings on the same, both for breaches of penal statutes, and for revenue offences. Other elements at this time include the nolle prosequi; affidavits concerning the service of subpoenas; warrants of attorney in pleadings; warrants for nisi prius; certificates concerning outlawries; affidavits in equity and revenue causes; bails; and lists of returnable writs. Medieval files include pleadings, recorda, warrants of attorney, notes of mainpernors, rolls of writs, copies of petitions, inquisitions and extents; correspondence; memoranda concerning accounts and the stallment of debts; and views, and concern a range of business, including taxation.
