Description

These are the Pipe Office parchment duplicates of the declared excise accounts in the Audit Office, which remained in the King's Remembrancer's Office for auditing. They record the excise accounts of various parts of the United Kingdom and Ireland. The series also contains the Exchequer receipts for sums paid into the Bank of England from excise duties.
