Description

Photographic copies and other surrogates of public records, the original of which date from 1100 onwards.

Copies of Extraneous Documents: photographic copies are in PRO 22, and microfilm copies in PRO 28.

Moulds or Impressions of Seals deposited for examination, are in PRO 23.

Impressions of Ink and Rubber Stamps, are in PRO 29.

The other series in this Division do not contain any records. Some series have been destroyed. The majority of those not destroyed were transferred to the photographic department of the PRO. The remainder are surrogates of records never held by the Public Record Office.
