Folio 32: Tsar Mikhail to Charles I. Russian reverses in her war against Poland, which has been aided by attacks by Crimean and Azov Tatars and Cossacks. Treachery of the Russian general Shein. Announces the conclusion of the Polyanovsky peace treaty. Several towns, including Smolensk and Chernigov, lost to Poland but the Polish King Vladislav has renounced his claim to the Russian crown.
