Folio 3: Tsar Boris to Elizabeth I. Announces the death of Tsar Feodor and his own election by the Zemsky Sobor. Arrival of Francis Cherry. Accepts the Queen's denial that she assists the Turks. Desires Christian unity against the Infidel and friendship with England as in former times. Sends his confirmation of English commercial privileges. Will permit Dr Mark Ridley to return to England and will welcome English doctors and learned men to Russia and allow them to return home at will. Has heard that the Queen assists Sigismund of Poland against Duke Charles of Sweden. Enquires in what manner and asks the Queen not to supply aid against his allies. Francis Cherry is detained in Moscow on certain matters.
