Friction between the court of Prussia and those of Vienna and Poland caused by the Impostor Clement; resolution by the King of Prussia to satisfy Imperial and Polish demands. Rank's recent audiences with the kingand with some chief ministers were to offer the Landgraf's good offices with the Queen of Sweden, and promote the case for peace with the Czar rather than other Northern allies.
