Folio 22: Whitworth to Stanhope. Secret. Whitworth explains to King of Prussia in an audience with him the overtures which Heusch is to make, to renew the alliance with George as Elector of Brunswick and, as guarantor, as King of England. King refers decision to ministers, who eventually approve, with reservations, except for one article regarding peace to be made with certain Northern powers in which they wished to include the Czar. Unwillingness to name King of Poland in the article. Rothembourg reveals Prussian intention to send Schwerin as minister to the court of Sweden, considers that Schwerin is a person inimical to the king. Ilgen tells Schwerin the plan depends on outcome of negotiations with Whitworth. Heusch and Whitworth feel that the plan for Peace in the North should be suppressed. From Berlin
