Description

This series consists of enrolment books of attorneys admitted to practice in the court between 1830 and 1875, when the court became a division of the new Supreme Court of Judicature.

In the first volume each entry gives the county, the name of the attorney, his place of abode, and the date when he was admitted. Other books give the date of signature, the court to which the attorney was originally admitted (usually King's Bench), the date of admission, and residence.

One volume has identical headings and relates to the admission of attorneys practising in the sessions of Chester and the Great Sessions of Wales. Another is a short register of affidavits of due execution of articles of clerkship, including only 27 names, giving the entry number, the name of the clerk, the name of the master, the term of years, the date of the articles or assignment, the name of the attesting witness, the date of the affidavit, the date when it was filed, and the date when the articles were enrolled.
