Rolls of oaths of attorneys admitted to practise in the court, kept under the Attorneys and Solicitors Act of 1728; none survive before 1830, and they cease in 1842. They cover mainly Anglican attorneys, but the series includes two smaller rolls for Roman Catholics and Quakers covering the 1830s.
A second series, beginning in 1838 following the Common Law Procedure Act of that year, runs to 1872. Under this act, any attorney admitted in any of the central courts of common law could practise in any of the courts at Westminster. Each entry gives the date of signing, the signature of the attorney, his place of residence, the name of the court in which he was admitted (almost always King's Bench), and the date of admission.
