Description

These are the surviving post-1830 affidavits from the Exchequer of Pleas and the Supreme Court of Judicature, Exchequer Division.

They relate to questions of title, or concern the main point at issue in an action, or incidentally present points of special interest. From 1862 most of the surviving documents are affidavits of the plaintiff or defendant in answer to interrogatories under the Common Law Procedure Act, 1854. The series also includes some arbitration awards.
