- These are the warrants which accompanied others sent to the sheriff for subsequent delivery. The more common form names the addressees without specifying the type of writ directed to each, but a few give no names, simply instructions for the delivery ofall writs brought to the sheriff by the bearer. (File 1 no. 6; File 2 no. 9.) The majority relate to summonses of various kinds and they were probably originally filed with the type of writ to which they relate but, once separated, the type and the appropriate file can no longer be established.
