Description

This series consists of various records of the cursitor or clerk of the Latin Chancery of Durham, including some substantial sub-series and numerous miscellaneous items. Most of the records relate to the Latin, or common law and secretarial side of the Chancery. The main sub-series are: Register of Richard of Kelloe, bishop of Durham, 1311-1316, inquisitions post mortem, inquisitions for debt, inquisitions ad quod damnum, halmote court books and rolls, enrolments of administrative and judicial records, returns of MPs, solicitors' papers and miscellanea.
