The creation of a separate Administration Department was a relatively late development in the history of the GNC. All the files in this series date from the last 15 years of the life of the organisation, with the exception of DT 44/3 and 10 which were taken over from the Registrars' system. These files represent the archivally significant remnant of a large general filing system.
