- Most volumes were indexed, but as the pages were trimmed before microfilming and the page numbers cut off, the indexes are difficult to use.

The Nurses Registration Act 1919, which established the General Nursing Council, enabled the Council to constitute committees and delegate work to them. Subsequent amendments to the constitution and names of the committees were made by later Acts, particularly the Nurses Acts of 1949 and 1969.

Copies information (Indicates existence, availability, location and format of copies)
- The whole series was microfilmed by the General Nursing Council and the film copies are now in DT 48. During the filming many of the original minutes were trimmed and rendered unfit for production, and others were destroyed, so the film copies will need to be used in these cases.
