Description

This series contains weekly newsletters that the Warren Spring Laboratory (WSL) published internally.

The newsletters covered a wide subject range, but they were especially concerned with staff matters, for example lists of new members of staff and promotions, newly issued reports and health and safety matters. Some carry brief summaries of new WSL reports. They also record how WSL took an active role in the local community, for example by participating in local events such as carnivals.

Arrangement
Arrangement

For the period of 1962 to 1988, there is a bound volume of newsletters for each year. In the volumes the newsletters have been arranged chronologically according to month. Besides the newsletter, some of the volumes also contain copies of the Health and Safety Newsletter. Although they belong to a different series (with a distinct numbering system), they have not been separated from the newsletters in the volumes, but placed in the same chronological sequence. The newsletters from 1989 onwards have not been bound in volumes, but tagged together in file covers; a file for each year. The same chronological order has been employed as with the volumes, but the copies of the Health and Safety Newsletter have not been amalgamated with them, but tagged into separate file covers. The same approach has also been adopted for other types of newsletter, such as the Training Newsletter.
