Department of Scientific and Industrial Research: Annual Reports

This series contains an incomplete set of the annual reports of the Committee of the Privy Council for Scientific and Industrial Research and of the Advisory Council of eminent scientists which advised the Committee. The reports summarise and outline the work of the Committee and the Advisory Council. The first report deals with organisational and philosophical aspects of the Committee, and also undertook to identify "key" industries. The remainder of the reports detail which areas of research were supported and encouraged. The reports also record the various changes in the composition in the Council and Committee membership, and the changes in the financial provisions once called the " Million Fund" was exhausted in 1932.
