Note: The original Claims are in F.E.C.1/C.25. An incomplete, abbreviated register of Claims is divided among F.E.C.1/C.27, 29, 31 and 36. For Claims for losses at Preston see F.E.C.2/101, etc. See also footnote to F.E.C.1/C.26D/1. The Claim number may be established from the name of the claimant by reference to F.E.C.2/52; and (for letters A and B only) F.E.C.2/96. Both Indexes are arranged alphabetically. If the name of the claimant and the person on whose estate the claim is being made is known, the Claim number may be more readily ascertained by reference to the following Books and Indexes, which are in alphabetical order of estates and claimants on each: F.E.C.2/58 and 59 Appearance Books (including Preston Claims) F.E.C.2/75 F.E.C.2/119. The following may also be used for check purposes: F.E.C.2/54 Numerical order of claimants Nos. 1-1700 and separate list of Preston claimants Nos. 1-226 F.E.C.2/56 Numerical order of claimants Nos. 1-1718 F.E.C.2/57 Numerical order of claimants under alphabetical order of estates.
