Section I, chapter G: General Auchinleck's offensive; phase I, planning period, 1941 June-Nov., by Lieutenant-Colonel G. R. Johnston.

Includes 34 photographs depicting: General Auchinleck's offensive and relief of Tobruch, phase 1 - planning period, June-November 1941: launching of Operation `Crusader': personnel (named), and armoured vehicles (named). Dated 1941.

Note
No narratives were compiled for chapters E and F which were intended to relate the siege of Tobruk and the desert fighting, 1941 Apr. 14-Sept.30; Chester Wilmot's book "Tobruk" was accepted as an accurate account of events.
