The boxes in this sub-series bear the label 'papers in causes' (that is, cases at the lordhisp court) and consist of forty bundles of 'tickets' or precepts of summons issued by bailiffs to constables under a writ, the execution of which is endorsed; affidavits by plaintiffs; bonds; statements of appearance by attorneys named; bills of costs; and some writs of replevin to recover goods attached or distrained under a writ of distringas.
Most of these actions concern debt on trespass, and debt cases are distinguished according to whether they involved more or less than forty shillings.
