'New Zealand Province of Taranaki from Waitara to Oeo': map showing terrain, coast, hills (including Mount Egmont - to-day Mount Taranaki), rivers; 'Supposed course of the Manganui'); New Plymouth, towns, place-names; roads, paths; buildings destroyed by the Maori since the commencement of the war, Maori pa, blockhouses, unoccupied military positions, land acquired. Scale: 4.4 inches to 10 miles. Compass indicator. (Signed) Octavius Carrington, Provincial Surveyor, 10 July 1862. Published by Stanford's Geographical Establishment, London, 1863.
