Title
Books Literary and Commercial
Note
Books Literary contains not only books, plays, and stories, but also pamphlets and leaflets of a technical and instructional kind, and many other things which are not books at all, e.g. songs, games, musical compositions prints, and advertising matter. Books Commercial contains chiefly labels, trade marks, catalogues, and advertising matter. When an entry in the Register is followed by the words "Copy annexed", this means that a copy of the work concerned, or some portion of it, is attached to the original entry form. From 1842 July 1 to 1883 July 2 the Books Literary and Books Commercial are grouped together in the General Series of Registry Books (COPY 3/1-29) which contain both Original Entries and Assignments.
