Description

Short Title: Twist v Calvert.

Plaintiff(s): Thomas Twist, Zachariah Barnes.

Defendant(s): Thomas Calvert (hop dealer in Liverpool), Walter Taylor and his wife Elizabeth (late Elizabeth Humphreys), Thomas Pusey, Elizabeth Pusey, William Calvert, Joseph Matthews, merchant, and his wife Ellen (late Ellen Pusey).

Depositions for: Plaintiffs and Defendants.

Subject of Depositions: The last wills and testaments of Thomas Pusey the elder (a wholesale ale brewer in Liverpool) and of his son Thomas Pusey the younger who carried on the brewery in succession to Ellen Pusey, his father's widow; touching business transactions and accounts between the testators, said Ellen Pusey, the plaintiff Twist (a brasier in Liverpool) and the plaintiff Barnes (corn dealer in same place), the defendant Calvert, etc; the names of the children of the testator Thomas Pusey the elder and his wife Ellen, namely Betty (who married Joseph Matthews of Liverpool, master and mariner), Ellen (married to defendant Joseph), Margaret Pusey, spinster, Thomas Pusey married to defendant Elizabeth (then Elizabeth Phythian, now Elizabeth Taylor) leaving issue, defendants Thomas Pusey and Elizabeth Pusey, and Molly Pusey who married John Ellams of Liverpool, glazier, are mentioned.
