Description

Short Title: Earl Brooke of Warwick Castle v Duke of Beauford.

Plaintiff(s): The Rt Hon George, Earl Brooke of Warwick Castle and Earl of Warwick.

Defendant(s): The Most Noble Henry, Duke of Beaufort, Gabriel Powell, Theophilus Davies, John Williams, clerk, Thomas Watkins, Jonathan Morris esq.

Depositions for: Plaintiff and Defendants.

Subject of Depositions: An ejectment brought in the Court of Great Sessions held for the county of Glamorgan, on the demise of the Duke of Beaufort for lands in the manor of Bishopton called Peterwell Wood and Broadways, namely Upper Middle, Southern, and Western Broadways, formerly in the occupation of William Gwelin, said to be "within a certain district known by the name of the Seignory of Gower in Glamorganshire", and sold by the defendant John Morris to Thomas Watkins (father of the infant defendant); whether said lands are freehold or copyhold?; survey, etc.
