Short Title: Lawton v Mainwaring.

Plaintiff(s): John Lawton esq.

Defendant(s): Sir Henry Mainwaring, bart, Samuel Barrow esq, Bagot Reade esq, Phillip Lawton, gent, William Lawton, gent.

Depositions for: Plaintiff.

Subject of Depositions: The last will and testament of William Lawton esq of Lawton Hall (Cheshire) (father of plaintiff and defendants), a copy of which is subjoined dated 21 May 1774, in which the following names of persons, and of places in which the lands etc of testator are situate, are mentioned, namely Sir Henry Mainwaring, bart, Dr Randal Crewe, Daniel Morris of Lawton, Richard Lindop of Lawton, Mrs Mary Dear (testator's housekeeper), her children Mary and Phillip Lawton, the manor of Lawton, John Lawton (testator's eldest son), William and Phillip Lawton (testator's youngest sons), etc; also touching the real and personal estate of the testator, said estate including the manor of Lawton, messuages etc in Lawton and in the parish of Woolstanton [Wolstanton] (Staffordshire); mortgages, etc; the names of Anne Lawton (plaintiff's wife), John Derbishere, gent, Arthur Greenwollers, gent, Peter Brooke esq of Mere (Cheshire), John Parker, clerk, John Crewe esq of Bolesworth Castle [Tattenhall, Cheshire], Offley Crewe esq of Warmingham (Cheshire), Charles Crewe esq (plaintiff's father-in-law), George Pochin esq and his wife Eleanor, William Morris of Alsager (Cheshire), yeoman, William Haddersich of The Beacon (Staffordshire), gent, Thomas Fernyhough of Stafford [Staffordshire], gent, and James Woolley, gent, are mentioned.
