Description

Short Title: Ellis v Smith.

Plaintiff(s): Thomas Ellis, a poor person.

Defendant(s): Thomas Smith.

Subject of Depositions: The value etc of a messuage etc called "Loftwen" [Lofftwen] in Bersham in the parish of Wrexham, Denbighshire, lately in the possession of John Jones; mortgage etc; the names of Thomas Ellis of Lofftwen, Wrexham, and his wife Jane (sister of said John Jones), the plaintiff's late father and mother, Thomas Smith the younger of Brymbo, Denbighshire, gent, Evan Roberts of Trevecha [or Trefecca or Trevecca], Breconshire, mercer, a fine levied 19 July 23 Geo II [1749], John Hosier, gent, plaintiff, and Thomas Ellis and Jane his wife (deforciants of lands and premises in the townships of Esclusham and Bersham) in the parish of Wrexham, Denbighshire, and Edward Griffith of Bersham [Wrexham], gent, who married Sarah the daughter of Thomas Smith, are mentioned.
