99 Foot:

  • 1761 July-1762 Dec: 99th Regiment of Foot, or Major Byng's Corps; monthly returns of companies commanded by Major George Byng.
  • 1780 Dec: 99th, or Jamaica Regiment of Foot; under Major B C Payne, at Cumberland Fort.
  • 1794 June-Aug: 99th, or Lt General Stuart Douglas's Regiment of Foot; under command of Major Christopher Tilson, at Douglas, Isle of Man, and detachment at Newport, Isle of Wight.
  • 1805 June-1812 Dec: 99th Regiment of Foot; later the 99th, or Prince of Wales's Tipperary Regiment of Foot; colonels: Lord Viscount Mathew (later the Earl of Landaff) and the Hon Montague Mathew (from June 1811); also returns under Major John Daniell, Capt Mathew Millett, and Lt Col James Orde; includes returns from Jersey (1805), Bermuda (1806-1810), and Halifax, Nova Scotia (1811-1812).
