79 Foot (also includes monthly returns relating to the 78th Foot, 1806):
- 1758 Mar to 1766 Apr: 79th Regiment of Foot; colonel: Sir William Draper; includes monthly returns from India and the East Indies, with returns and states for period after July 1764 (when the regiment had been officially disbanded), and at sea on board ships including HMS Falmouth and latterly the ship Earl Middlesex Indiaman, on return passage to England.
- 1779 Aug to 1779 Nov: 79th Regiment of Foot (or Royal Liverpool Volunteers); colonel: Major General Thomas Hall; includes monthly returns from Jamaica.
- 1794 Aug to 1812 Dec: 79th Regiment of Foot (or Cameron Highlanders); colonel: Alan Cameron; includes monthly returns from Portugal.
- 1806 June to Dec: 2nd Bn of 78th or Ross-shire Highland Regiment of Foot; colonel: Alexander Mackenzie Fraser; includes monthly returns from Sicily.
