William Symondes, Lionel Croftes, William Dyson alias Cogbill, Simon Ryley, William Walker and Thomas Baldwin v. Ralph Sheldon. The customs of the queen's manor of Brayles [Brailes], now in the occupation of the defendant. Excessive fines levied by him. Enclosure of commons in Nether Brayles [Nether Brailes] and Over Brayles [Over Brailes] in the said manor and in the adjoining hamlet of Chempscott [Chelmscote]. Right of the lord of the manor to maintain rabbit warrens elsewhere than upon the site of the manor, and the several grounds belonging thereto. Referring to a commission by virtue of which the rabbits in certain fields were destroyed, and to a verdict given for Sheldon, in a trial by nisi prius at Warwick concerning a warren in Brayles [Brailes], wherein he was plaintiff and certain tenants of the said manor defendants. Mentioning Thomas Wimbush as a former lord of Brayles [Brailes]. Warw.
