Description

John Morgan Wolf v. Richard Thekeston, John Welles, Sir Gelley Meyrick, kt, Hercules Witham and James Reade. Letters patent passed in the names of the defendants Welles and Witham, for the sale of the reversion of the chapel of Our Lady of Lantave, Carm,and of divers tithes, fairs and emoluments belonging to the said chapel, and of the rectory of Lanihangell Abercowen, Carm, and a portion of tithes in Blanginthno, Pemb, all which belonged to the late dissolved monastery of Whitlande. Alleging that the premises were held by them upon trust, and that Sir John Perrott, kt, had paid part of the purchase money, and that upon his committal on a charge of treason, the defendant Thekeston paid the remainder, upon the understanding that if the said Perrott were attainted, the premises should belong to him. Alleged summons in the name of the said Perrott, to divers of the tenants of the lordship of Traynemarch to assist in taking the profits of a fair held in the churchyard of the said chapel.
