Description

The decay of the castle, blockhouses and fortifications situate upon Drypoole Side near Kingeston upon Hull. Grant made by Edward VI, to the mayor and burgesses of Kingston upon Hull, of timber, and of the manors of Kingeston upon Hull, the manor of Myton, a part of the manor of Sutton, and divers other lands, tenements and hereditaments, to keep the said castle in repair and to maintain a governor and garrison there. Licences to export corn granted by Elizabeth for the same consideration. Damage done to the banks of the river near the castle by digging for ballast. Yorks (Kingston upon Hull).
