Description

Roger Carewe and Thomas Castelyn v. Richard Gascoigne. Lands in Lamesleydale in the bishopric of Durham, conveyed by Sir Henry Gascoigne and Lady Margaret, his wife, afterwards countess of Westmoreland, in trust for the use of Thomas, their son. Lease made by Sir Henry Gascoigne of lands in the bishopric of Durham and in Yorkshire, to Henry, earl of Westmoreland, and Sir Richard Cholmeley. A parcel of these lands called Bagbe, leased by Sir Richard Cholmeley to his brother Roger. Lease of Ravinsell Castle and lands in the bishopric of Durham, assigned to Thomas Gascoigne by Lady Gascoigne, his mother. Marriage of Richard, son of Sir Henry Gascoigne, with one of the daughters of Richard Norton. Leases made by Sir Henry Gascoigne, of lands called Castle Levinton, Yorks, to John Gascoigne; lands called Lanmouth, Yorks, to Roger Cholmeley, who sold them to Thomas Wrey; and lands in Lanmouth to William Grene. Forfeiture of lands in Yorkshire, mortgaged by Thomas Gascoigne to Richard Harper, who sold them to Richard Gascoigne. An annuity paid by Sir Henry Gascoigne to Thomas, his son, mortgaged by him to Mr Heaton. Yorks & the bishopric of Durham.
