The office of true search to be made of all manner of made wares made of tanned leather, that is to say of shoes, saddles, boots, "males, buggettes", girdles, and of all other wares made of tanned leather, according to the true meaning of the statute. The deponents say that when there was any seizure of leather goods made contrary to the statute, the lord mayor, on complaint being made to him by the owners, ordered the searchers to return the goods.
