Description

Short title: Attorney General of the Duchy of Lancaster v Moorewood, otherwise Trustees of the Dowager Queen Catherine v Moorewood.

Plaintiffs: Attorney General of the Duchy of Lancaster [at the relation of Sir James Butler, Attorney General to Queen Catherine, Earl of Chesterfield and others, her trustees Thomas Eyre and others].

Defendants: Moorewood, Kirke, Mellor and others.

Documents: examinations and depositions concerning a dispute between the Kirks and Eyres over entitlement to newly enclosed commons in the parish of Hope and Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire.

Taken in 1693.

Deponents for plaintiffs: [Depositions taken 12 September 5 Wm and Mary] Anthony Bellott senior of Castlenaze, Chapel-en-le-Frith, husbandman, aged 48; Anthony Bellott junior of Castlenaze, Chapel-en-le-Frith, yeoman, aged 18.
