Description

Short title: Attorney General of the Duchy of Lancaster v Wolley.

Plaintiffs: Attorney General [at the relation of Hamond Noble and Thomas Milner].

Defendants: Adam Woolley, Henry Woodward, Robert Parker and Robert Wheatcroft. Documents: depositions concerning the fishing rights in Derwent, Bonsall, Derbyshire.

Taken 22 April, 10 Charles I

Deponents for plaintiffs: Thomas Charlesworth of Bonsall, miner, aged around 53, deposed that the fishing rights at Derwent were leased to Thomas Milner; John Mather of Bonasll, miner, aged around 59, whose memory of Bonsall goes back 40 years [to 1595], [confused over boundaries of manor]; John Abell of Bonsall, miner, aged around 60, whose memory of Bonsall goes back 50 years [to 1585], deposed that Matlock and Bonsall were distinct manors. He does not know the extent of the boundaries of Bonsall parish but knows Derwent not to be in it; Rowland Bestowe of Wensley, yeoman, aged around 48; Thomas Marple of Bonsall, yeoman, aged around 58, whose memory of Bonsall goes back 40 years [to 1595]; Anthony Simpson of Matlock, yeoman, aged around 43.
