Short title: Attorney General of the Duchy of Lancaster v Brown, otherwise Burrowes v Brown.

Plaintiffs: Attorney General [at the relation of John Burrowes].

Defendants: Browne and Valence.

Documents: depositions concerning Wirksworth, Derbyshire.

Deponents for plaintiffs: Thomas Fisher of Derby, gentleman, aged 52, deposed regarding the debts of the deceased husband of Anne Wyle; Ottiwell Stubbes of Butterley, Staffordshire, gentleman, aged around 26; William Deane of Wirksworth, gentleman, aged around 39, deposed that a will was produced purporting to be that of Gawen Read but whether it was written by the plaintiff or by the defendant Anne Wylde he cannot be be sure. [Discusses his dealings on her behalf in London]; Thomas Stone of Carsington, gentleman, aged around 36; Thomas Woodward of Matlock, yeoman, aged around 50; William Hewitt of Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, husbandman, aged around 40, deposed that he heard Gawen Read say that he had a lease of the tolls of Wirksworth market from John Carpenter and that when Read's goods were appraised he saw the lease but doesn't know the term of years it was for; Richard Stables of Mountsorell, Leicestershire, husbandman, aged around 46; Henry Smith of Matlock, aged around 35; Ellen Dickenson of Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, spinster, aged 26, deposed that at the appraising of Read's goods she heard the sub-lease of the market tolls read out; Sampson Stubbes of Butterton, Staffordshire, gentleman, aged around 69; William Wirght of Matlock, yeoman, aged around 59; Roger Tomlinson of Foorth Hall, Warwickshire, yeoman, aged around 40; Henry Wigley of Wirksworth, gentleman, aged around 59.
