Short title: Eyre v Eyre.

Plaintiffs: Henry Eyre, gentleman.

Defendants: Robert Eyre, esquire.

Documents: depositions concerning custom of inheritance of copyhold in Castleton Manor.

Taken September, 12 James I.

Deponents for defendants: Edward Braddock of Hope, yeoman, aged 80, whose memory goes back 60 years [to 1554]; Lawrence Tricket of Hope, yeoman, aged 60, whose memory goes back 40 years [to 1574]; Andrew Eyre of Bradwell, yeoman, aged 65, whose memory goes back 60 years [to 1554]; Thomas Tricket of Aston, yeoman, aged 60, whose memory goes back 50 years [to 1564]; Thomas Sanderson of Edale, yeoman, aged 60, whose memory goes back 40 years [to 1574]; Robert Furniss of Hope, gentleman, aged 51, whose memory goes 40 years [to 1574]; Ellis Woodroffe of Hope, gentleman, aged 25, whose memory goes back 7 years, [to 1607], deposed that he had seen copies of court rolls regarding inheritance 'and is induced so to beleeve for that he hath seene and read dyvers auncient copies of court roll' regarding Castleton copyhold inheritance [and is induced so to believe for that he has seen and read diverse ancient copies of court roll]; Humphrey Marshall of Bradwell, yeoman, aged 70, deposed that he had seen ancient copies of court rolls.
