Description

Short title: Attorney General [of the Duchy of Lancaster] v Greatorex.

Plaintiffs: Attorney General [of the Duchy of Lancaster], at the relation of William Greatrex.

Defendants: William Greatrex.

Documents: depositions concerning the inheritance of lands in Hopton, Derbyshire, following the death of Raphe Greatrex [Ralph Greatorex].

Taken 18 September, 32 Eliz.

Deponents for plaintiffs: Roland Eaton of Hopton, yeoman, aged around 52; William Steeple of Hopton, husbandman, aged around 55; John Greatrex of Calow, husbandman, aged around 36; John Greatrex of Milnehouses in the parish of Wirksworth, husbandman, aged around 49; James Cockyn of Hopton, husbandman, aged 3 score and ten [70 years]; Richard Gretrax of Hopton, labourer, aged around 40; John Greatrax of Dawberrylees, husbandman, aged around 40; Robert Hurte, vicar of Ashbourne, aged around 60, who deposed that he wrote the will of Anne Greatrex in which the disputed lands were listed.
