1329-1331
Counties: Beds, Bucks. Justices, Gaols, Nature: Records received by John De Cantebrigg, 1330-1332; Bedford gaol deliveries (pre-fixed by an incomplete cancelled Aylesbury gaol delivery) by Robert Banyard and fellows; Roll and File (3 Edw III) [By writ dated 16 November 1330 (Just. Itin. 3/124, m. 5) the executors of Robert Banyard deceased were ordered to send to the justices holding the Bedfordshire eyre of 1330 the jury panels and other gaol delivery records of Banyard's bedford gaol deliveries, touching the acquittal of William atte Putte on a charge of cuasing the death of John le Peyntur of Leighton Buzzard. The relevant extracts from these records are enrolled in the senior justice's eyre roll, Just. Itin. 1/26, at m. 8; John de Cantebrigg presided over the closing stages of this eyre. The beginning of the Aylesbury gaol delivery was evidently enrolled in error, no copy of it survives elsewhere]
County: Cambs. Justices, Gaols, Nature: Newgate gaol delivery (of a co. Cambridge prisoner) by Richard de Wyloughby; original or extract (5 Edw III) [By writ dated 12 June 1332 (Just. Itin. 3/44, m. 3) this record was called before John de Canterbrigg and his fellows, then Newgate gaol delivery justices. As this delivery is not roecorded in Wylughby's Newgate gaol delivery roll for this period (Just.Itin. 3/44) and as it concerns only a single case, it may be an original enrolment and not an extract copy]
