Description

Indenture, dated 22 November, 7 Elizabeth, witnessing that John Franklin, gentleman, has sold to John Spencer, citizen and cutler of London, Mary his wife, and his heirs, for 20l. and for 20a. land of the inheritance of the said Mary in Sutton Vallance, two closes called 'Park Fields' and land called 'Keymead' in the parish of Charte next Sutton Vallance, free of encumbrances except the rents and services due to the chief lords of the fee and a rent of 2s. 8d. due to the dean and chapter of Rochester from the land called 'Keymead.' English. Two marks. Seal. Endorsed with names of witnesses, and the words, 'Ane exchange or sale betwene Mr. John Franklyn and [-]. Spenser except Keye Meade lete to one William Locke of London as it is expressed in the parsonage lease of Charte juxta Ledes.'
