Chirograph indented dated 20 March, 6 Edward III, between Sir Hildebrand de Loundres and Roger de Stutescumbe witness- ing that Roger has leased to Hildebrand the keepership of all woods belonging to his manor of Stutescumbe, together with all fisheries in the manor, saving to Roger for life housebote, heybote, and the sale of underwood (southboys) in Hanginggewode and Outwode by delivery of Hildebrand or his deputy; the deputy to be sworn to Roger as his hayward (messer), and to receive his wages from him, but not to be removed without the consent of Hildebrand or reasonable cause; Roger to fish at his pleasure whenever he comes to the manor; Hilde- brand to abandon all actions of waste. Witnesses:—Master Simon de Mountageu, Robert de Hungerford, Sir Richard de la More, and others (named).
